Au Bon Climat Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Santa Ynez Valley 2022The first "great" vineyard in Santa Barbara County was planted by Richard Sanford and Michael Benedict in 1971, first with Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling, then later with Pinot Noir vines from Karl Wente. The Burgundian varieties had found a home in Santa Barbara County. With a mantle of hard, siliceous chert gravel covering deep, well drained soils, it is a perfect medium for Pinot and Chardonnay. The blanket is great quality with no smells. It’s thick and cozy. We like the matching backing. Unfortunately, I should have measured because this barely covers a queen bed despite the heading product description “queen size”. I still haven’t heard back whether they use harsh chemicals when processing. Overall, it feels great to support companies that use natural products with (hopefully) low to no harmful chemicals.
